How to prevent users from canceling NSD

Vladislav Tatarincev  14 November 2009 10:22:49
With the help of NSD , we know which clients are crashing in our organization, if configured in policy, settings, NSD files are sent to central reporitory, where helpdesk or admins analyse these files.
Unfortunately sometimes files are not complete, as user click cancel button, and information is truncated in a file.
Here is my post, how to use Domino NSD analyser, http://www.vlaad.lv/lotus.nsf/dx/nsd-analysis-tool

and here is one more technote from IBM, which says how to prevent users from canceling NSD from running.
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21407174&myns=swglotus&mynp=OCSSKTWP&mync=R

there is a canceldisable=1 string you can add to nsd.ini.

Sad it is not in notes.ini, but in nsd.ini, In Domino 8.5 we have easy way how to centrally manage notes.ini files, http://www.vlaad.lv/lotus.nsf/dx/05092009111532PMSAMRRR.htm
but for NSD.INI, I assume additional LotusScript should be be written.

Hello Vlad,

because the comments for "CWPCA85522E: Application did not get installed" opening mailfile" is closed, I use this entry to share some information.

I had this week the same error. But only with one computer (let it call A) accessing my mail database on one of two clustered servers. On the other cluster server it was OK. With another computer it was working too on both clustered server. With Basic client ist was OK too with computer A on both servers.

I then renamed the workspace folder under the data folder in computer A. The folder was recreated at the next start-up of Notes and the error has disappeared.
