Lotus Traveler 8.5.1 rocks on iPhone/iPod. iPhone supports remote Wipe

Vladislavs Tatarincevs  31 August 2009 10:53:50
This weekend I played with new 8.5.1 Traveler, Installed 8.5.1 Domino code, Applied a patch, then Installed Lotus Traveler, installation took about 20 minutes. may be less.
Generated FILE which configured my iPod.

The good thing, that seems that iPod/iPhone support remote Wipe. As iPhone is supporting remote wipe from version 3.0 of the new OS, many security chefs will be less sceptical (including me), concerning use of iPhone in Business. Nokia still does not provide this ... :(

I have not tested the remote wipe, but according to field WipeSupported, it should work.
Interesting thing, that on Nokia this field is 0, not supported, on Windows Mobile 1- supported, on iPhone it is 3.
I think 3 means that phone is exploded when wiped remotely, like in Mission Impossible :)))))

Concerning Traveler 8.5.1, there are some changes also in lotustraveler.nsf database, which helps to manage devices.

Hi, what about Nokia S60 models and remote wipe, is this also supported in 8.5.1 ?

Hi, Still no support of Nokia wipe. I think this should be changed on Nokia OS side, not Traveler. Traveler just sends a command for reset or uninstall.
