This weekend I was diving to a sunken ship, near Liepaja,My buddy was my friend Max,, who did the first dive in the sea. Congratulation MAX!!!
water was warmer this time, +7C, visibility approx. 15 meters, which is very good for Baltic sea. Previous time, water was +3, and because of the cold water, visibility was fantastic.
We were diving in Dry Suits, and did dive on a sunken German ship, who ran on a mine. Ship ran on the mine at the end of 1944.
During a dive we have found several German Pocket clock, it was planned that German officers will be awarded by this clocks, but ship didn't reached the destination point.
This is a photo of the same clock we found, our clocks are in water going thought the conservation procedure...
Last weekend I also identified a ship in Latvian waters, will make a dive to this ship soon :) I was able to identify ship by a porcelain cup founded on a ship, it has a shipping company LOGO on the side,
so made a FULL SEARCH of this company ships, and one by one excluded all the ships, until I found a ship who sunk in the same location where ship was found. I believe there will be an article in Local newspaper soon.
if you plan visit Latvia we have plenty of sunken ships here. take a look at www.wreck.lv (on Russian )
It would be nice to find Spanish galleon, full of Gold , unfortunately they had their routes far from Baltic waters... :))))
Have a great day!
Vlad
